Hi and welcome to the poll board,
I like this poll and that you mention the author of the books. It's thorough, well-researched, and well constructed. 'Nice of you to include links, too. I've only seen two of the films but I liked the original more so I'd vote for #1. This reminded me that I had to read the novel in high school during the summer (we always had summer reading lists) and I didn't finish it, choosing to go swimming and cheat by reading the Cliff Notes, lol. Now that I've finished graduate school in literature and creative writing, I still haven't read it -- I think they'd revoke my degree if they found out about all the classics I haven't read. :-)

Thanks, I think what the Hammer films do so well, in regards to the book, is demonstrate the true obsession of Victor Frankenstein. Peter Cushing understood the character and played him brilliantly.
