You're not supposed to vote for the image but the text underneath the image as defined by the actual wording of the question. There are ranges of times in each option.

Looks like it was Return of the King at 201 min. Can't imagine I stayed in my seat the whole time at that age but I was in the building.

201 minutes < X > 220 minutes (Andrey Rubliov at 205). It was a bad idea not to drink any coffee beforehand.

If I count both parts of Nymphomaniac, that's around 240 mins, even though I only saw the "short" version.

Otherwise, Lawrence of Arabia last year at about 228 minutes.

I guess Lawrence of Arabia would have been my longest film experience at the movies.

In the theater it has been The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.

I have seen longest movies in a single view like Lawrence of Arabia but that has been at home.

The two longest films I've seen, Novecento and Gangs of Wasseypur, I saw in two sessions.

this is a really great idea stephen...

i remember going to the movies was usually two movies, plus coming attractions, news clips, cartoons, etc...you never went just to see one film...

and then all those great movie marathons like 5 marx brothers films in a row or the entire series of the original planet of the apes in chronological order (which was 5 films as well)....

and as i wrote, the longest individual movie was 'napoleon'...over four hours long (at least 240 minutes...not sure of the specific length)....

but just seeing the list of individual movies is very cool....again...great idea....

I saw Gone with the Wind when it was re-released to theaters in 1998, so that would be my longest one.

Do I need to explain how the mathematical symbols work?
< and > in the basic formulas below? Or will they be fine (given their current context)?

X < 80 minutes
81 < X > 100 minutes
101 < X > 120 minutes
121 < X > 140 minutes
141 < X > 160 minutes
161 < X > 180 minutes
181 < X > 200 minutes
201 < X > 220 minutes
221 < X > 240 minutes
X > 240 minutes

Tsar,

The formulas should really be

X < 80 minutes
81 < X < 100 minutes
101 < X < 120 minutes
121 < X < 140 minutes
141 < X < 160 minutes
161 < X < 180 minutes
181 < X < 200 minutes
201 < X < 220 minutes
221 < X < 240 minutes
X > 240 minutes

Which translates to:

X (is less than) 80 minutes
81 (is less than) X (is less than) 100 minutes
101 (is less than) X (is less than) 120 minutes
121 (is less than) X (is less than) 140 minutes
141 (is less than) X (is less than) 160 minutes
161 (is less than) X (is less than) 180 minutes
181 (is less than) X (is less than) 200 minutes
201 (is less than) X (is less than) 220 minutes
221 (is less than) X (is less than) 240 minutes
X (is greater than) 240 minutes

Where X is the duration of the film.

If you are worried those Xs will confuse people, you can ditch them entirely and write it all in a simpler manner:

less than 80 minutes
81-100 minutes
101-120 minutes
121-140 minutes
141-160 minutes
161-180 minutes
181-200 minutes
201-220 minutes
221-240 minutes
more than 240 minutes

I see the (should be obvious) error in my formulas.

Much appreciated. Thanks Dan. Edited the respective options accordingly. That makes much more sense.

Timely because a lot of people seem to be talking about the length of 'The Irishman.' I just read a review that took issue with it but it didn't bother me.

The longest film I've seen in a theater was 'Lawrence of Arabia' at 228 minutes. The theater had an intermission, though, so I don't know if that counts.

Oh, I noticed a typo in #11:

I never been to a movie theater in my life. > I've never

I'm going to adapt the making of this poll into a movie. I suspect it will end up being 325 minutes long. IT'LL BE SO EPIC!

Stephen Atwood, sometimes I wonder whether some future classic or at least cult classic will inevitably be adapted from a comment section of something, a forum thread or something like that.
