I'm not surprised. "The General" is popular today for a silent film. It's #1 on the Silent Era 100 list ("The Gold Rush" is #6). I think it may be a bit overrated, but just a bit.  I think "Sherlock Jr." and maybe "Our Hospitality" are better Keaton.
