1. Halloween (1978)
2. The Evil Dead (1981)
3. Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1986)
4. Suspiria (1977)
5. Housebound (2014) would be the perfect second part of a Halloween double feature. Starts slightly scary but turns out mighty funny

I think it would be good, if everybody chooses his picks in order of watching them.

I don't watch many true horror movies, so I am a bit hard pressed to come up with stuff... I will do my best. :)
1. Big Bad
2. The Boy Who Cried Werewolf (2010, hopefully it counts)
3. RiffTrax Live: Manos: The Hands of Fate
4. The Birds
5. RiffTrax: Carnival of Souls
If I think of any that may count more toward horror, I'll let you know. :) Most of my Halloween viewing is Pooh & Garfield Halloween, Disney channel stuff, Halloween episodes of old sitcoms, and MST3K episodes. :D

Please change Carnival of Souls to "RiffTrax: Voodoo Man." It has no IMDb page, but linking it to the actual Voodoo Man movie from 1944 is fine. :) Thanks.

I'm so sorry... I promise this is the LAST time I change something... :)
I always knew there was another RT Live, but I couldn't think of it... please change Voodoo Man to 'RiffTrax Live: Plan 9 From Outer Space.' That is all. Thanks a million.

I'd consider watching Carnival of Souls without the commentary :)

I always thought the story had great potential; the biggest issue with the movie was that 70-80% of it was her driving and playing the organ. It would probably be a good remake.

Honorable mention to B movie, Hardware (1990). Absolutely terrified when I first stumbled onto it on cable in the early 90s.

Stephen Atwood, I hope to watch Hardware (1990) either as a part of Halloween Marathon or Halloween Hangover Marathon (November, basically). Richard Stanley is a very interesting director, shame that his career was derailed by rumors spreading that he was trying to sabotage The Island of Dr. Moreau from which he was fired when he sneaked onset as an extra in heavy make-up to at least have some input into production he spent years planning.

I usually find myself in a Halloween Hangover, but this year I think I put my decor and stuff up too early... I think I'll be ready to say goodbye Nov. 1. :)

My Halloween Marathons are usually very chaotic, with lots of variety and things I haven't seen yet... But there's always a room for rewatches.
In chronological order:
A Bucket of Blood (1959)
Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1983)
Retribution (1987)
The 'Burbs (1989)

Ginger Snaps (2000)
The Cabin in the Woods (2011)
Halloween (1978)
Sleepy Hollow (1999)
Satan's Little Helper (2004) (Surprised no Rifftrax treatment)
This made me think which movie I saw the most on Halloween. Double, Double Toil and Trouble (1993), I probably watched this 5 or 6 straight Halloweens when I was little.

A bunch of horror movies that were great for their time haven’t held up well over the years. The entire Friday the 13th series fits this category, as do many of the other seeming classics.
So, my list:
Drag me to the Hell
The Babadook.
Insidious
The Devil Inside.
The Exorcist.
Regards, onplanners

Olivia,
Unfortunately this poll suggestion has already gone live, meaning it's an official poll on IMDb. But joe can still edit his list; he may add your picks if he wants. :)

Olivia Fair, "holds up" is a tricky term. I find many silent films and 1930's and 1940's classics holding up well as horror movies, to be honest.
