When the IMDb was created they listed who they believed at the time were
the most important people in the industry 30 years ago as a whole. It was alphabetized. So these actors names are among the very first included the database.

Who do you believe made the most impact in their career?

A run-off poll of 30 names from the top 10 from each of the 3 polls in the series will happen 3 months after the last poll in the series is published.

Note: If #10 and #11 are hotly contested, a delay could result.

There are 65 names divided among 3 polls.

Series 1 List:https://www.imdb.com/list/ls095911394/
Series 1 Poll:

Series 2 List:https://www.imdb.com/list/ls095916039/
Series 2 Poll:

Series 3 List:https://www.imdb.com/list/ls095916591/
Series 3 Poll:

If Published I Will Re-Push the Companion Polls within the descriptions.
Thanks

Do you have a source for the names being the first included when the database was created?

Yeah, the Database itself. Don't you notice things like that?

https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000001/?ref_=nv_sr_1?ref_=nv_sr_1
Is
Fred Astaire (1899–1987)
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000002/?ref_=nv_sr_1?ref_=nv_sr_1
Is
Lauren Bacall (1924–2014)
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000003/?ref_=nv_sr_1?ref_=nv_sr_1
Is
Brigitte Bardot (Still alive)

Continuing on until the last numerically listed actor at nm0000081 is
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000081/?ref_=nv_sr_1?ref_=nv_sr_1
Is
Natalie Wood (I) (1938–1981)

After nm0000082 who is not an actor but is in alphabetical order on the list, become randomly assigned.

I rewrote it just for you.

IMDb has assigned these actors and actresses the status of first listed by numerical order within the database. Some would say V.I.P. Status. They are also alphabetized too.
My first paragraph when created was speculation. But would be nice to know the real story behind it. But I can't imagine any other reason for listing these other than the reason I extrapolated. But who wants a nice story when cold hard facts are a better read. Maybe you can find out the real story. Your a champion. Here is a cause. Be a Champion. Find out for me please. It would be cool to know how they decided on these actors and actresses.
Please try if you can.
Anyway....
Need I go on?
Any other questions?

You have the same means that I do to ask questions of IMDb and the community. I think the question about the numbers was asked at the old contributor message board, but I don't remember the answer.

Name page URLs didn't include numbers until some time after 2000, so the numbers don't necessarily say anything about what happened when IMDb was started.

I rewrote it so it does not say  anything that may not be correct.\
