The trick with the Berlin Wall is that it's "cinematic" to the extent that it's used in a movie but is that enough to make it cinematic as the wall from "King Kong"... the Great Wall of China has been used in so many epics or spectacular shots that it's fair to include it, but I'm not sure about the Berlin Wall unless you use a really relevant example, I didn't see "Atomic Blonde" but how about "The Bridge of Spies" or "Good Bye, Lenin"? And how about Pink Floyd's "Wall"?

Yes, yes I know, I'm a human being... but what I'm only saying is that cinema has no bearing on that historical magnitude. The Berlin Wall is impressive, dramatic, extraordinary, monumental, notable "by itself"... there's no particular movie that made it even more impressive, dramatic, extraordinary, monumental and notable... if it's a poll about walls, then its presence is undeniable, if it's about cinematic walls, that's another story. Not saying it shouldn't be there but maybe not for a movie where it was just used as a background. That's all....

Now I see what you mean. Thanks.

leavey-2, it's really not so clear as an idea with that image.
For the Berlin Wall, I'd rather choose between another representatives:
Der Himmel über Berlin (1987)
Escape from East Berlin (1962)

BTW, the greatest movie deep into this theme is named not "wall" but "The Tunnel" (uder that wall):
Der Tunnel (2001) -- it has no backdrops added yet
and I can not offer better than these ones:

There must be some powerful documentary about the wall, it would be a valid option :)

Sure there are some. Do you remember any from where the backdrop might be feasible to take? ))

I fully agree that in the case of the Berlin Wall, the wall itself should play a significant role in the movie. I first took the picture from Atomic Blonde (2017) because it was the best image I could find from the (real) wall. But I replaced it with the picture from Escape from East Berlin (1962) which I think is more representative for what the Berlin Wall stood for. Bridge of Spies (2015) would have been a good one too, but I couldn't find a good picture from this movie with the Berlin Wall on it. Thanks to both of you for your suggestions!

My suggestions to list:
World War Z (2013)
300: Rise of an Empire -- the wall of dead bodies (but no such backdrop on IMDb)
Kong: Skull Island (2017)

The next one is only if the Berlin Wall remains for this poll:
The Pianist (2002) -- jewish ghetto in Warsaw

Very good poll! My vote: Walls of Troy. Since you have Game of Thrones, I think you should erase the word 'Movies' from the title.

Thanks! Good point about Game of Thrones. In order to keep the title short, I think I will leave the title as it is. However, I specified in the description that both movies and tv-series are included in the list.

Hey leavey-2

Your first variant "Middle Earth" (after comma, that is important) is correct in general, you may use a similar approach in other cases. But in this case you deal with the title authored by Tolkien as "Middle-earth", it is the author's style, you are not correct when trying to change it somehow ))
