"And they lived happily and had many children..." (they eventually divorced and the princess got full custody, but that's another story)

All these marriage movies doesn't end with a divorce, some have divorce as the starting point, but all of them provide many insights about these "better" and "worse" we casually mention during our marriage vows. So, following the release of Noah Baumbach's much anticipated awards-contender Marriage Story (2019), here's a tribute to these movies that say something about marriage.

Which of these marriage movies is your favorite?

FYC:

1. Queen (2013)

2. Gone Girl (2014)

3. Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005)

4. The Notebook (2004)

5. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008)

Tip: If you don't want to include foreign movies, it's okay, but if you do, consider Bollywood films, Indian cinema makes a lot of those kinds of films.

The other Noah Baumbach, The Squid and the Whale is a worthwhile dramedy to search out for and watch.

A few comments:

1/ Typos are fixed, thanks Peter

2/ Is "The Notebook" a marriage film? I thought it was a youth romance.

3/ My non-inclusion of Bollywood is in no way a reflection of a personal bias, I apply the same logic to foreign movies, including from my country of origin, the idea is that a foreign film that didn't garner any particular acclaim, recognition or fame outside its nationally, culturally or regionally marketed audience wouldn't have any substantial weight on an IMDb poll... and I'm not totally opposed to the eventuality of adding them...
