While IMDb may epitomize itself as the Top 250 for cinema, it is not the only one. A popular social media platform for cinephiles is Letterboxd. This too has a Top 250 and while there are a plethora of similarities to IMDb's, there is also a myriad of differences. Presented are the 35 highest ranked titles missing from IMDb's Top 250. Which one most deserves a place on that list?
Of course some films aren't quite eligible to enter the list just yet.

I'm a little concerned as this list can be outdated. Any suggestions as to how to change this.

Nice suggestion. I only have seen 2 of them.
There is one movie with only 385 votes.
Maybe the list will be more interesting when you include movies with more than 5,000 or 10,000 votes.

There are some excellent films there you might want to watch. Thanks for your suggestion but as I can't control the number of votes and film gets and this is based on the 35 highest rated, there is not much I can do to manipulate this list. Also the reason Scenes From a Marriage has 386 votes is because there is a theatrical and mini-series version. Since IMDb only includes feature films, I included that one. The mini-series itself has close to 13000.

The IMDb Top 250 has considerably changed in the span of 5 years, I just realized today that Duck Soup isn't even there... I think it used to be there but I'm not sure. Still, if you look at the Top 250 list circa 2005-2010, you'll find a more satisfying 'disposition', and more diversity. And I just realized today (from your polls) that it's been a long time since I haven't checked the Top 250.
In the old days, it used to be my "Bible", I had to watch "All About Eve", "Stand by Me", "Sunset Blvd.", "Persona", "The Best years of Our Lives", or "Harvey" because they were on the Top 250 (and also on AFI's list for some) so the Top 250 kept many great classics under the Radar, today it's not the same.
But a great combo of encouraging lists would be:
IMDb Top 250
AFI's Lists
Siskel and Ebert's Top 10
One of my greatest discovery of 2017 was Altman's Nashville, it took me 7 years to find it and I needed to watch it because it was on AFI's Top 100 Greatest American movies and it made the top of Siskel and Ebert's Top 10 in 1975. I don't think it ever was on the Top 250.
Speaking of Altiman, it's a crime that his masterpiece, a perfect movie like McCabe & Mrs. Miller isn't in the Top 250 or Melville's Army of Shadows, Malle's My Dinner With Andre, or Cassavetes' A Woman under the Influence.

I don't think that is how to use the word "epitomize". Perhaps you could just say, "While IMDb may have the most famous Top 250 list ..."

I guess my intention came across wrong. Thanks for the suggestion.

Interesting idea for a poll! Most of these movies I've never heard of, which is pretty humbling and makes me wonder what else I'm missing out on.
One remark: Ningen no jôken (1959) seems to be occurring twice in your list. Apparently there exist 2 different movies with the same title, the same poster and from the same year. Maybe you should clarify in both poll items' descriptions what the difference is (are they part 1 and part 2?). Otherwise people will be confused.

In the title of each film it states I & II. How would you suggest I explain this in the description?

I didn't notice those at first. The strange thing is, when you go to both movies' pages, the I and II are gone. I don't know if it can be helped, but if more people are like me, they will be confused.

That is strange I must say. I think IMDb should fix that. As for the issue, I'm sure there is much to prevent. I guess it comes down to the individual.

I did attempt to prevent confusion. Check the list for the updated description.

This is a great idea for a poll and it's a good list with some great films. May I suggest just a few edits to the intro?
I would also definitely suggest changing the first sentence a bit. I think Peter suggested a very good alternative: "While IMDb may have a famous Top 250 list, it is not the only one."
I think that, in another thread, I already said hello and welcome but, in case I didn't, hello and welcome. : )

Voted for Human Condition III. Human Condition is my favourite trilogy ever.

Poll information is accurate as of December 5, 2017. (or whatever date is most appropriate.)
My vote: The Red Shoes (1948)
Inglourious Studios
The Red Shoes is a classic and just a stunning spectacle. My choice is Werckmeister Harmoniak.
