What do you mean with 'hard sci-fi'?
Some movies are playing in cinema's already. So I think maybe this question is (to) late.
I should delete 'poll suggestion' in your description.
I should change the title into: Most Anticipated Sci-Fi Movie of 2017.

Please move the choices with images into the first five choices. I recommend that you use the images that crop the best into those first five choices. The grid view is a good approximation of the cropping for the IMDb Home Page.

If your poll were to go live, this would improve your chances of the poll being featured on the IMDb Home Page.
I wish you luck with refining this poll. It's been my experience that there are strong and contrary opinions as to what constitutes hard science fiction.

I put it in the grid form, and I put the movies with pictures first. Thank you for the advice!

This Wikipedia article does a reasonable job of defining hard science fiction.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hard_science_fiction
I personally tend to use the terms SF for hard science fiction and Sci-Fi for less rigorous science fiction.
This search may be helpful. Unfortunately, IMDb conflates superhero films with hard SF.
Most Popular Sci-Fi Feature Films Released 2017-01-01 to 2017-12-31
http://www.imdb.com/search/title?genres=sci_fi&release_date=2017-01-01,2017-12-31&title_type...
From that search, these films are potentially hard SF and not currently on your list:
Alien: Covenant (2017)
Life (I) (2017)
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017)
Kill Switch (2017)
The Space Between Us (I) (2017)
Geostorm (2017)
Stasis (2017)
iBoy (2017)
Bokeh (2017)
Teleios (2017)
The Humanity Bureau (2017)
Marjorie Prime (2017)
Moontrap: Target Earth (2017)
I haven't completely reviewed the search. The films I suggest may not be hard SF.

There are actually some pretty useful on there, and some that look pretty good! Thank you.
Also, IMDb seems to change the rest of my (personal/unrelated) lists to grid form too. Know anything about that?

If you change the default setting for one list, all your other list follow suit. This is an annoying undocumented feature.
Hollywood produces very few true hard Science Fiction films. Interstellar probably was the last that qualifies. Kip Thorne (https://www.its.caltech.edu/~kip/index.html/) developed the original concept for the film. Professor Thorne is the Feynman Professor of Theoretical Physics, California Institute of Technology.
It will take a while to refine this poll suggestion so that it will be a viable poll. It will help to define and refine the criteria for the films that you will include as choices.

Not long before that (sticking to the 2010's), there was Gravity, Her, Europa Report, Inception, Never Let Me Go, and an entire hard sci-fi series called Black Mirror.
Some of those are also listed on the Wiki page you linked to, which has some good examples on it as well. They also include Passengers, Automata, Elysium, & Robot & Frank from the 2010's.
I'll be researching the films individually to see what the general consensus is for each.

I also updated the list description to be clearer on what was being considered "hard sci-fi".
Each film will have a source or thought about it's classification in its description too, though I'm not sure people can see it in grid mode.

You did a nice job of writing the introduction for the poll suggestion. I have a few nit picks that I believe will improve your introduction. I've indicated changes with bold underlined text.
Other poll authors may have some additional comments.

Hard Sci-Fi is science fiction “characterized by an emphasis on scientific accuracy”. The definitions of “hard” and “soft” sci-fi alike are more so approximations however, leaving a lot of room for discussion & debate.
It’s not uncommon for what is considered to be science to be stretched for the sake of narrative. Even Interstellar stretched science for the sake of narrative. What matters is that scientific ideas and concepts are explored in the story.
Which of these hard sci-fi movies are you anticipating the most for 2017?
This poll excludes superhero movies, space-operas, and Sci-Fi horror.- 323 Posts

I'm going to re-phrase the second paragraph, maybe not exactly the way you suggested, but I see the problem.
Thank you, I'm new at this, so I really appreciate the help.

Keep up the good work.
By the way, now that the poll has gone live, you may receive requests to add choices to your poll. If the suggestion meet your criteria you can update the poll and ask for a re-push.

If so, please remove the following: Mute, God Particle, and maybe The Man from Earth: Holocene (released 2017, but only publicly available 2018).

As for the timing, the voter can always just vote for whichever one they were anticipating the most. That way films that have already come out are still eligible. It's just for 2017 in general.
