'Great poll with a good list and great images. My favorite is the end of Psycho (the "wouldn't hurt a fly" scene) but when I think of most iconic I think of Cary Grant and the crop duster in North by Northwest.

FYC:

The shooting at the Royal Albert Hall in The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956)

rubyfruit76,

I tend to think of this scene during the shooting at the Royal Albert Hall in The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956)

... but the scene you suggest is also iconic and happens around the same time.

Que sera, sera

seriously...so many great moments (love 'rope' in its entirety), and the first time you see raymond burr look at jimmy stewart in 'rear window' certainly holds up today, but...to compliment your question, the most iconic scene would probably have to be the crop duster sequence in 'north by northwest'...

Thanks for the input Rocky, I think I'd agree with you on the crop-duster scene.
