These are the plot elements we've seen time and again in movies, which seem to be more prevalent now than ever in a time where many people have argued that originality has started to dwindle.

Which of these overused movie tropes have you seen enough of at this point?

Big business is always evil or just the small business man as always evil.
David and Goliath stories. Aka the small guy fighting a huge organization or a powerful man.

I've added "sequels", "prequels" and, "remakes". Thanks for the suggestion Leavey!

I vote for that one. Or. Enter yet "subpar sequels that don't expand or build upon the story

Can I amend one or suggest it as it's own entry? "Are comedies based on old T.V. shows that were not comedies". Cases that point out: "Dragnet", "I Spy", "The Wild, Wild West ", "CHiPs", and "Baywatch". While some of those shows had extremely low production values and bad scripts, none of those shows were comedies on TV. Actually the tv shows "I Spy" and "The Wild Wild West" were pretty good. It is like the point made in the movie "Sweet Liberty", where a director who does get the whole concept behind the historical romance book that he is turning into a slapstick comedy because he thinks it more hip and pop radical of his current time to do a 'moon you' and 'flip the single finger' criticism comedy at the history of the American revolution. He totally misses the point that the book his film is based on received a Pulitzer Prize as it was. The writer of the book has to fight him in order to prevent his book from being totally trashed. In short, taking someone else's famous work and doing there own thing with it that was not what it was really all about. Or in other words "films that are comedy parodies of old non comedy TV shows." I am really sick of seeing it. They are really duping the audience who goes into the theater expecting to see one thing but get the other.

The poll includes one of my least favorite tropes in fiction: the chosen one. It is usually a poor excuse to make a single character stand out out of an entire cast. He/she is not chosen because they are more qualified, smarter, tougher, or more experienced than the others. Just because fate proclaims it so.

Several of these chosen ones are dull, shallow characters with nothing remotely appealing about them. I have been sick of these type of tales for most of my adult life.
