I'm an extreme introvert and misanthrope who lives in voluntary quarantine anyway.

As long as Netflix continues to function, I'm fine.

We introverts are hipsters: isolating ourselves before it was cool. Although I originally  planned to get out of my shell more this year...

Concerts and movies. I don't go out often anyway, and I wouldn't much care if I caught the bug. But my parents are more at risk, so I have to be careful for their sake.

Right. The mortality rate for under 40s is just 0.2%... after age 40 the rates start climbing, and for those who are late middle aged or elderly it's a serious problem.

Well, I was going to watch No Time To Die in April ...

Now, whether Corona actually is the reason behind it's release delay is debatable, but that is certainly what MGM would want to make you believe.

I didn't really had to abandon any plan as lately I'm back to freelancer, working from home. I believe this is a good moment/excuse for some bingewatching or movie marathon. I think I'm gonna update myself with The Walking Dead (I know it's getting worse and worse, I call it a guilty pleasure). Also maybe I'll finish my Almodóvar marathon, that I started with my wife in December and it's going pretty slow. Just missing like 8 movies!

They are so *bleh* I only watched "1"  because the tickets were sold out for other things I wanted to see.

2 was miserable, no Vin Diesel

I never saw 3... I believe it was something about the backstory of the Asian guy,

4 & 5 were ok. I watched 6 because of the cliffhanger in 5.

This Franchise is B grade quality with A grade budget.

If there was ever a Franchise that needed to be euthanised, this is it.

I planned nothing except for one thing:

Buy 7UP at the supermarket, but that is now out of stock.
So the Coronavirus ruined my 7UP day, now I have to drink milk.

cinephile, I can thoroughly relate to that feeling. In 2014 war conflict lead to several of my productions being largely postponed and having problems which are not as of yet, fully resolved.

Still, when I was doing nothing several months I started to film some scenes with an intention to finish them later as a proper short film. I was able to finish Book of the Senselss in 2015 when, after finishing university I had another long period of nothing. As many of the cast and crew members were unavailable, but it was important for me to have all those people in that particular short film, I used several finished and unfinished projects, effectively making a film largely out of unsued scraps from other productions, such as outtakes, deleted scenes etc. It shows at times, but I am still kind of proud of this. It proved me that I can finish large projects and this feeling still keeps me continuing larger projects, such as a feature film 13 years in production already...

Anyway, here is the short, maybe it will inspire you, maybe not, but I kinda hope for the former. :)

'Good one! (Although I'm thinking it could easily be less US-centric.)  I'm missing traveling to Spain to visit my best friend and seeing films, including 'Portrait of a Lady on Fire,' which I've been looking forward to for months. On the other hand, I'm getting a lot of writing done; yippee!

'Two small edits suggested: (for option #32)

I was tonight meant to see a live production of Beethoven's Fidelio this evening. After what we were told by our prime minister yesterday, strongly implying temporary self-isolation, I decided it was too risky to go and there was uncertainty as to whether the transmission was going ahead (it was suspended in the end). All my upcoming singing engagements have been cancelled too (gutting) and shopping for some items has been a nightmare. Lots of relative seclusion in store now. Feeling very unsettled.

Perhaps changing "We at the IMDb" to "We at the IMDb poll board" would be prudent. I don't know that we can speak for IMDb.

In my country, they have shut down what they call "Non-Essential" services and business which means that basically everything is shut down except groceries and drug stores, it is probably the case in others countries, but I'm speaking about mine because I'm more aware of the statistics and the situation.

Where I am trying to get to is that an outrageous amount of people lost their jobs, and honestly just in my province of my country, there are more people who lost their jobs than the reported number of people contaminated by COVID-19 throughout the world.

Basically, throughout my whole country, 44% of the population lost their jobs, which is about 16 million people.

They can say whatever they want, but they ruined the whole economy, and personally have friends that lost their jobs

The more outrageous is that the government knew the consequences.

This whole economic crash could have been avoided if the governments took more responsible measures.

This wouldn't be necessary, if they had shut down the airports earlier. First they completely underestimated the impact of the virus, but then our government got very fast after getting it. They should shut down, when such a crisis last for more than one week. And even in this time, visitors of this land who are traveling back should be in a two week quarantine. The economy and in order the citizen can save very much money and better: Avoid many deaths.

Our medical system is one of the best in the world, but now it faces borders - and the outbreak is just in the beginning. Without the measures and trade they do in the moment, our medical healthcare system would break down very fast. So it costs very much and we sure will have higher taxes and something like that, but it's necessary to prevent a total breakdown.

Presently, as I see it, the economical consequences are way more devastating that the virus could have ever been.

The 44% of the population of my country who lost their jobs. Actually, they don't fear the COVID-19, they are concerned that maybe they won't be able to pay their rent or that their debt are just gonna increase because all they get is 2000$ a month from the government.

Even after the medical crisis is over, we will feel the effects of the economic crisis for years to come.

If the elderly and at risk were quarantined immediately along with sensible flight restrictions on international flights, then this would not have spread as bad.
No one goes out without a scarf or mask on in public (Not to protect you from another but to protect others from you if you carry the disease) as a precaution.
This was mishandled globally.
And yes, shutting down the economies worldwide was a bad decision.
When the dust settles on this and we get THE REAL infected numbers, the death rate from this will be considerably lower then the earlier predictions claimed. WAY lower.

The global economy has been a fragile house of cards since the adoption of Friedman's fake economic policies by Reagan and Thatcher and later globally.

The world needs a wake up call. Your precious "economy" is built on a bunch of nonsense that created short term "growth" but which is completely unsustainable.
