Returning to this chestnut of a pair of suggestions as one was published years ago and the other was forgotten about. Will repush the live Queen of Jazz (previous generation) poll with this new discussion thread (a first for me).

Looking presently for vocalists or singers only. I guess I should rework this old suggestion ... and now that you mention Miles Davis... I do remember I was going to add a third poll suggestion (that of jazz musicians who were nonsingers). I'll figure this one out.

Already regretting the notion that my King of Jazz list has far too many missing photographs (something I forgot about until after I posted this).

Stephen Atwood, I can get the restriction to vocalists only, but it does not sit well with me, because I associate Jazz foremost with musicians rather than vocalists.
