Perhaps usage varies, but 'commemoration' is often used about something in the past. Could you use "in honor of"?

Interesting trivia: Jodie Whittaker plays Beth Latimer and a former Doctor, David Tennant, plays Alec Hardy on Broadchurch (2013–2017). The creator of Broadchurch, Chris Chibnall, is taking over Doctor Who (2005– ) for the 11th season.

Dan, I have a technical question. How is the title for which the actor is best known set? e.g. William Hartnell Actor, Doctor Who Is it based on most voted title, does actor select his own or some other method? I don't follow the show, but find it interesting 8/13 are best known for Doctor Who, Plus it seems like a toss-up for one to three of the others what they are best known for. David Tennant and John Hurt  seem make the best case to be known for other projects than Dr Who.

Thanks, that was helpful. I always wondered. Most of time I think it works, but every now and again, I get one that leaves my head scratching. Like John Hurt (Actor, Alien (1979)) bit role in Alien beating out Elephant Man or his combined 3 movie role in the Harry Potter series or the more voted V for Vendetta with a juicer role. Oddly, it displays different when typing a search as John Hurt (Actor, Snowpiercer (2013)). I know how tricky balancing multiple factors can be, especially ones that may not be easily quantifiable. All in all, the algorithm seems to get it right.

The discrepancy you found is interesting. Snowpiercer isn't one of the four titles displayed under Known for in his page. I wonder if it may have been selected manually by his representatives (the help page mentions this option).

I also chose David Tennant when he changed in part 2 of "End Of Time".   I also would have chosen "The Time Of The Doctor", where at the end, Matt Smith as the 11th "Doctor", saves the planet Trenzalore and the town of Christmas from the invading Daleks, and at the same time he gains a new regeneration cycle for himself, and then he transforms into Peter Capaldi who becomes the 12th "Doctor", and the journey of the Last Time Lord of Gallifrey continues.
