Poll Suggestion: Remembering the 2010s

Hard to believe that this decade is coming to an end, it seems like yesterday that we were saying hello to 2010, and here we are, saying goodbye to 2019, the 2010s are over and with them a series of trends, cultural phenomena, events that made a singular difference on the field of entertainment. Let's call them 'era-defining events' for lack of a better word.

For which of these 'events' will you most remember the 2010s or do you think the 2010s should be most remembered for?

You could also add an option, Everything Old is New, and discuss the revival of movies and shows from the 80's/90's, like Star Wars, Terminator, Rambo, Rocky (Creed), Murphy Brown, Dallas, and Roseanne and such.  The 80's is back, due to Stranger Things or not, I hear more 80's stations on the radio in businesses now than ever.

I think that the issues of Mexicans and social networks are the most impressive for me.

2019 is definitely trying to outstage 2016 in terms of celebrity deaths... Which is rather unfortunate. :(

A lovely, high-concept poll!

So sad to hear the Ric Ocasek died; weird because just a few days before I bought a Cars CD.

They still got it... the old school directors still have a few movies under their sleeves, the 2010s saw the nominations of many veterans from Woody Allen to Martin Scorsese, Clint Eastwood to Terrence Malick, making the decade perhaps the last link between the old and new generation.

Thanks Paok, just noticed that comment... that's very kind of you (I feel kind of guilty now, you know why lol)

Anyway, I updated the list, 20 entries now

Maybe 'the decade that Disney took over' based on the purchase of huge franchises, the launch of its own streaming service, etc.? I had the term Disneyfication in mind, but apparently it already exists and means something slightly different.

When Disney took over: the company is near-ubiquitous thanks to high-profile purchases including Marvel Studios and the Star Wars franchise, as well as remakes of its own classics and the launch of an own streaming service.
