M. Night Shyamalan's movie, 'Split,' stars James McAvoy as a man with dissociative identity disorder who has at least 23 identities. McAvoy amazingly portrays eight of them, exquisitely so, inside the movie of less than two hours. (In 'Glass,' expected to be released in 2019, he plays ten.) Which of the identities did you enjoy watching the most?

('Split' is now on Netflix, HBO, and dvd.)

Oh, and if anyone has any ideas for a title,  please let me know. Thank you. :)

Ah, thank you for letting me know! I had the list on a private setting and forgot to change it to public. 'An old habit; it should work now.

There is also a minor typing error on Jade's entry: "Scene in only two brief scenes". Otherwise loved the descriptions!

Glad to be of any help!

To be fair, no matter how closely you proof-read what you have wrote, it's always a reasonable idea to have someone read it for typing mistakes and other mishaps - it almost always happens with anything from scientific works to end credits (I have done both and I can recall a lot of typos which were noted only after everything was done).

I once read a book on the history of investigation and they somehow managed to repeat a full page of text in two different places despite having two authors and four correctors. :)

Nikolay,

We appreciate your excellent feedback.

Inevitably, duplicate and/or missing pages are printing errors. In the case you cite, the authors and editors missed the duplicates when they reviewed the galley proofs.

This movie exploits those that have multiple personalities.  And adds even more stigma to the disorder, when there is already enough out there.  Just please please please don't think those that are multiple are at all dangerous, because they're not.  They are more likely to be in danger themselves.  And everyone is at a different level of trauma and functioning.  And every system is different.  This is not an accurate portrayal of someone with DID.

Hello, Jeanine.

Although I really understand your concern I think that a lot of claims about this movie adding to stigma were misaimed, because it was never supposed to portray a real-life situation. Although some article erroneously claimed it did for a lot of time (which added to confusion) it is a sci-fi thriller (moreover, set within a fictional universe of another movie) about a supwerpowered human who only manages to control his powers through DID due to childhood trauma.

If you would like to see something like this in a more positive light with arguably more hope - try "Legion", a TV series which many people praise for accurate portrayal of similar disorders, despite it is also actually about a superpowered human for whom DID is more of a side effect.
