Martial artists Bren Foster and Vidyut Jamwal are two of the real life heroes that gain their strengths through very self-disciplined hard training.   They both started training in very young ages.
Check out their Youtube videos.  They both make all the cinematic superheroes (those without supernatural powers) pale in comparison.

P.S. :  They are both martial-artists-turned-actors.  Hollywood should hire these two super-trained real life heroes to play cinematic superheroes.
