The Wilhelm scream was created for the film Distant Drums (1951). You can hear the scream in a scene where a man is bitten by an alligator. Years later this sound effect was called 'Wilhelm', named after the character Pvt. Wilhelm from The Charge at Feather River (1953). Since then the Wilhelm scream is used in hunderds of films. You're welcome. If I ever get annoying with these suggestions for editing, just tell me to buzz off, lol. I'm a writer who spends way too many hours editing my work and an English instructor, so, by now, it's so engrained as to maybe be a bad habit. Oh, and your poll's been repushed.
