The staff of Spanish film site eCartelera has made its own ranking of the 10 worst movies of the year. Projects that turned out to be too crazy to work, or had a terrible script, or some other sort of failing. Which one of them do you think was the absolute worst? See list

Of the two that I saw on there, "The Circle " was the worst of the two because of the terrible screenplay and dirrection. A terrible waste of the talent of Watson and Hanks. The screenplay and direction had totally failed to emphasize enough the very real seriousness of the invasions into personal privacy caused by data mining and new technologies being sold as "new conveinces to make your life easier" ( without mentioning "only if you sign away your right to privacy and place certain pieces of your personal life under their control"). Remember that many things discussed in that film have yet to have laws written to declare them as illegal; therefore, they are all legal. The new Big Brother (oh yes, that is what that the book was talking about), will not come from government. It will come from come from people promising new inventions to make your life easier or more connected while secretly stripping away your rights and justifying it (I mean their actions).
Actually, the story was to be, an updated to today's realities, a combination of Orwell's "1984" and Huxley's "Brave New World".
