These films showed us characters suffering huge breakdowns and as a viewer, we were sucked right into their crumbling worlds along with them. Tense, provoking, mind-bending; these are the best psychological-thriller films of the 1990s.

Which of these 1990s psychological thrillers are you most likely to remember?

When Funny Games is an option, Funny Games will almost always be my vote. Also, WOW they actually accepted my contribution to add horror as a genre!!! First time I've ever had a very reasonable genre addition accepted. :')

Let’s ask this rhetorical question? What makes a “psychological thrillers” memborable?

To me, it is two things:

1 - it has got to have an interesting twisting plot to pull you in and get you thinking. You, as an audience member, can’t be a passive observer. You have to be on the edge of your seat.

2 - you can’t see the end coming. You have to be kept in suspense the entire time. Without that, the film fails.
Hitchcock was a master at this. Almost all of his films were psychological thrillers. Especially “Psycho”, and “Marnie” and “Spellbound” and “Rebecca”.

The decade-genre poll industry strikes again, some of us try to "adapt" but you're too much of a rollercoaster, Kyle. Please give us a chance... can't you get back to something more "crafty" for a little while? :)

'Silence of the lambs' is a great deal for sure ! But I'll vote for 'Cape Frear' Which definitely gets to less attention in this poll. "Scorsese" is one of the best in this genre.
