Why not? I wouldn't mind having a few polls being sandwiched between the usual winners.

Jeorj,

You're right that there isn't much to elaborate on with this one, just looking for other people's votes.

I haven't seen the third Avengers movie yet. I haven't seen the third Toy Story movie either, even though it came out years ago. It's an animated movie for family audiences, so I might have overlooked it.

If I had to choose, I would probably decide among Captain America: Civil War, The Avengers and Transformers: Age of Extinction (as it was an improvement over the Transformers: Dark of the Moon). It's always a hit or miss with Bay. His best work was in the 1990s. (Well, a lot of filmmakers' best works were from times earlier.) Frozen is perhaps better than Transformers but not exactly my cup of tea. I actually saw the season of Once upon a Time dealing with Ilsa and Anya before seeing the animated movie, and for some reason, I prefer the low-budget live-action materials over animated stuff. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 is a fine movie, but it is really the second part of an overall seventh installment of a long, very drawn-out series that centers around comical stereotypical wizard tropes (despite being very dark) and is most interesting in its totality.

Finally, there are the technical masterpieces that are The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi to address. I'm among those Star Wars people who weren't too pleased with the new storylines and some of the characters, whether new or returning. The sequel trilogy got off on the wrong foot too, so Episode VII is to blame for many of the weak points of Episode VIII. Quite frankly, it is not even a pleasant topic to discuss, because Star Wars fanatics can be some combative people within the supposed "fan" community. Even so, it is not the place of studio employees to insult or antagonize the "fans", which has happened in recent years. Long story, short, the totality of the on-screen fiction and the behind-the-scenes is illustrates a big mess. To set all that aside and focus on the technical achievements of the companies that Lucas founded, there is a beauty to it all from 1976 onward. Many movies, television shows, music videos and video games were inspired (or even made possible) by technical mastery behind the original Star Wars and the adjunct media-franchising (toys, costumes, comics, souvenirs et al.) of that movie. Where would a lot of the people who are today's most popular filmmakers be if Star Wars had never even been made let alone released?

Captain America: Civil War is good but I did find it overrated - definitely liked its predecessor more.

Yeah I agree in terms of Star Wars... the storylines just aren't compelling any more but the $$$ there, so who are we to argue with that?

I've seen Avengers: Infinity War now, and in light of that, my decision would probably be among the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. Strange how two previously-independent studios owned by Walt Disney Studios can produce such high-profit products that are so stark in contrast of meeting my satisfaction. I suppose, that is brilliance on the giant's part for not fully-invading its assets, thus far.

Confused if you liked Infinity War based off of that assessment LOL I liked it as a full-blown climax of a 10 year long build up - people complained there wasn't enough character development/explanation but that's what all the previous MCU films were for - this was supposed to be the "war" to end all films. To me, it was perfect as just that.

True, makes sense. Did you think it was one of the better MCU films?

Yes, I find Infinity War to be among the best MCU movies, although I suspect that a number of the installments leading up to it are prerequisite for viewing. I don't know how a science fiction/fantasy fan who has never seen a member of the MCU collection would perceive it. I'd have to perform an analysis.

What a morbid pattern of words :
9 titles - Four occurrences of the word "War"
Other cheerful words such as "Last", "Extinction", "Frozen", "Death"... seems like these word do attract, even "Avengers" and "Awakens" imply that something not-so-good happened before.
if it wasn't for "Toy Story", you would see behind these box-office champs some grim foreshadowing about the world...

Also, "Force". In the context of the phenomenon endemic to the universe of Star Wars, the Force is fine, and in the context of physics, force is also fine, but there is also interpersonal, political, governmental or legal concepts of the use of force. Even though not all use of force constitutes aggression or violence, most of it does.

Such cheerful posters, too (last year's collection especially).

And most of these movies are set in worlds where powerful, larger-than-life beings battle each other while ordinary humans are just collateral damage. Wait, isn't that reality?
