New technology meant a new wave of animated films.. CGI was born! And with it, we were given some of the best films to ever come out of that technology.

Which of these 1990s Animated movies will you most likely remember?

List: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls026287655/

Hey Kyle, this poll is interesting -- I had forgotten that a few of these went back to the '90s. It's cool to look back at that decade through these movies.

This part of the intro seems a bit confusing:
And with it, came some of the best films to ever birth the genre.

By genre, I'm thinking you mean animation? Or do you mean the technology of CGI? These films didn't birth animation so I'm not sure exactly what's meant.

Oh, my vote would probably go to 'Porco Rosso.'  :)

Hmm.Well, by "genre" did you mean animation or CGI or CGI animation?

The latter, CGI animation; the technology was born and with that, we were given some of the best films to ever come out of that 'new' technology. Would there be a better way to phrase that? If anyone could think up one, I have no doubt it'd be the one and only Ruby :)

Thank you, so much, for the compliment, Kyle, but you are probably a better writer than I am and the first evidence I'll introduce is what you wrote above ("the technology was born and with that, we were given..."). That's great! :)

You're so right, too, about "some of the best films." Wow, there are some great movies on the list. What makes my vote easier is only that I'm figuring 'Porco Rosso' won't get as many votes as some of the others. Otherwise, I might have to flip a coin, lol. (Geez, I can't say that anymore without thinking of Anton Chigur, lol.)

Thanks Ruby! I love our back-and-forth compliment vibes :) I've never seen Porco Rosso but it's on the watchlist. LOL at the Chigurh comment.. seriously though, there will forever be a negative connotation with that sentence.

Beauty and the Beast (1991) is iconic classic animated movie. Would go with it.

I feel like when people discuss the best animated films ever, this gem goes somewhat undervalued. It's charming from start to finish and I agree, it's as iconic as it is endearing. One of my favorites too!

Hi Kyle, I think this poll would like to go live. ;)  Can you change the intro to include the revision that you came up with?

Several of these films are among my personal favourites, with good scripts, memorable characters, great songs or music, and interesting settings. But 20 years after first seing it in a cinema, I still find Mulan being the most memorable.

A heroine struggling with the expectations of her family and society, and with war at the same time. Two warring armies getting decimated down to a hand full of people. Great visuals, and the emotional scenes ranging from comedy gold to soul-crushing despair and mourning,. The scene were a little girl's doll is all that remains in a destroyed village is among Disney's best in my opinion.

The worst of these films was The Prince of Egypt. It glorifies Moses, a murderer, a blood-thirsty tyrant, a warlord, and the one leading an entire population to death in the desert. Not one of the people who followed him out of Egypt reached their Promised Land. One of my favourite passages explaining what type of leader Moses was, comes from the Golden Calf story in the Book of Exodus:

"*then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Whoso is on Jehovah's side, [let him come] unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.

*And he said unto them, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, Put ye every man his sword upon his thigh, and go to and fro from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbor.

*And the sons of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men."
