Even though there is a poll with the same question, you may have enough movies that aren't on Jen's poll (http://www.imdb.com/poll/ypn6aytu_bI/) for it to be ok, especially if you add the new 'Isle of Dogs.' The film is getting a lot of attention and should be very popular, and it would make the poll timely.
Or, if you add 'Isle of Dogs' and you can find more stop-motion animated films to add that weren't on Jen's poll, perhaps you could just change this poll a bit to make it a part two of her poll. (In that case, you might want to contact Jen just to let her know, and also add a link, at the bottom of your intro, to her poll.)

Actually, I suppose if the lists are different enough, it wouldn't have to be a "part two." It could maybe just stand on its own. Either way would work.

Wait - where are the LEGO feature films? Would you consider adding them? I thought The LEGO Movie would be on the list for sure!

Ariel, it may come as a surprise, but Lego movies are actually CGI-animated. They do great job with replicating the handmae feel (even adding thumbprints to figures), but if they use stop-motion at all it's only a very small percentage of the movie.
That's amazing! You learn something every day. I literally thought they were made from real LEGO bricks. That's brilliant that they went to such pains to simulate the actual physicality of real LEGO. You wouldn't know the difference!

It fascinates me as well when filmmakers have enough medium awareness to go as far as to add something like that, like thumbprints in Lego movies or a reflected "goof" cameraman in space suit in Gravity (2013).

Filmmakers started out as fans of film and are probably more obsessed with details than most fans. I suspect that many fans in general became more aware of these details when films became available for VCRs where they could review specific frames and scenes over and over.

That's probably very much true. I am myself as a filmmaker putting much more details in my works then I should considering how many people are going to see them, but that's part of the fun for me. :)
