Live Poll: The Big Easter Egg Hunt

Easter time! Rabbits and bells hide eggs in the gardens. Moviemakers also hide Easter eggs in their works... but no chocolate here. These Easter eggs are references to other works. Well hidden in the picture frame, in the background of a scene, one must be watchful to find them.

Hidden references have existed for a long time in movies but the name "Easter eggs" would have comes from The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975). An eggs hunt had been organized by the cast and crew on the set. But not all eggs have been found and some are visible in the movie.

Among this selection of famous visual Easter eggs, which one is your favorite?

A great list and poll suggestion. Great job with pictures. I would have corrected Fight Club one a bit in order to say why exactly it is easter egg rather then usual case of product placement, but that's just me.

Several favorites here, although Hitchcock's appearance in Lifeboat (1944) is unbeatable, even if more of a cameo. Been trying to reinstate his IMDb listing for that appearance for ages and, since uncredited photographs does not qualify for "Cast", that is one of several dozen cases which I'd say beg for listing such cases in Miscellaneous crew as "photographic model: role".

Thank You Nikolay Yeriomin.

You're right about the Fight Club's easter eggs, it could look like a frenzy product placement. I added a brief explanation in the description of choice #14.

About Lifeboat, I wanted to include easter eggs a little older, on movies anterior to the 80s.
This Hitchcock's cameo is more like an easter eggs by the fact that he's not present flesh and bone in the scene but through a photograph.
I would also tend to think that a credit must be given to an actor, a director, appearing in a movie by a photograph taken especially for it.

Great list! :)

May I suggest some edits?

Hidden references have existed for a long time in movies, but the name "Easter eggs" comes from The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975). An egg hunt had been organized by the cast and crew on the set.

#9: During King Triton's entrance, Mickey, Donald and Goofy can be seen in the crowd. In a general way, Mickey is hidden in all of Disney's movies.

#10: These are in reference to other famous time travellers "Mr. Peabody & Sherman"

#12: In a general way, every upcoming Pixar movie has its easter eggs in the current movie.

#18: Michael Myers' (Halloween (1978)) and Jason Voorhees' (Friday the 13th (1980)) masks, Leatherface's chainsaw (The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)) and Freddy Krueger's glove (A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)) are visible at the police station in evidence lockers.

#19: The witch's woodcarving represents the pizza delivery car that appeared in Toy Story (1995), which has been hidden in all Pixar movies.

#22: The barrels of Carboneto are in reference to the carbonite that was used to imprison Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980).

#24: Freddy Krueger's A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) glove hangs close to the door.

#27: Scar (The Lion King (1994)) briefly makes an appearance as a rug.
