Live Poll: The Land of Enchantment Movies

The Land of Enchantment is the official nickname of New Mexico. The nickname is because of New Mexico's scenic beauty and rich history. The State Tourist Bureau and New Mexico magazine first used the phrase "The Land of Enchantment" in 1935 to encourage tourism to the state (source: statesymbolsusa.org). New Mexico became the 47th state of the United States of America in 1912.
These movies have a connection with New Mexico. They are (partially) filmed there or it's a topic in the story. Which movie (or movie poster) do you associate the most with New Mexico?

Indeed.

And of course that reminds me of 'The Florida Project' but I won't go on and on about how magnificent it is. I did that enough last year, lol.

I'm thinking about moving to New Mexico. My vote: Hell or High Water. I really like how you include a bit of information about the state and information.

Thanks! Yes it’s better this way. It explains the poll title.

I used to be very active on this site as "Jalapenoman" and created many polls.  When they switched up the polls to a new website, I quit.  I am also a resident of New Mexico and have been for almost twenty years.  I also lived within five miles of New Mexico for another thirty years.  Needless to say, I am familiar with my state.

The obvious answer you are missing is "Chisum" (the 1970 John Wayne film about the Lincoln County War, which would have gotten my vote).

Another big miss is "Fat Man and Little Boy" (about the development of the atomic bomb from 1989 with Paul Newman).  Most of it takes place at Los Alamos National Labs.

You also should have included "The Staircase," about the famed Loretto chapel staircase in Santa Fe.

Sunshine Cleaning, and Amy Adams film, was shot in Albuquerque a few years ago.

Brian Keith's 'Scandalous John" was loosely based on famous rancher Oliver Lee (there is an Oliver Lee state park outside of Alamogordo) would also have been a reasonable addition, though the film was not very famous.

Hi, Yes I remember you.
I’m not from the US so I did my research on internet. It’s good to have input from citizens from the State, but unfortunately I can change the list after it’s live. I think I will keep a few empty spaces on the list in the future. Then I can add the movies.
