Simply amazing. It's been 40+ years after the first Star Wars film, and the advancements in filmmaking techniques. Yet, they still (almost exclusively) have humans as main characters and prominent secondary characters in these new Star Wars films. Sure, there's a new important droid here and there, but it's not enough, in my opinion.
The Galaxy Far, Far Away has Rodians, Twi'leks, Devaronians, Zabrak, Weequay, Aqualishs, Durosi, Jawas, Tusken, Ithorians, and hundreds more races, but most of them are relegated to background, serving only to make a scene more 'exotic'.

I mean, I don't get it... these Disney sequels had almost unlimited budgets. And yet, Episode 7 gave us four new main characters (Rey, Kylo, Finn, Poe) - all of which are human. Why wasn't at least General Hux an alien? Or Admiral Holdo in the next film? Why is the entire main crew of Rogue One human, save for one droid? In Han Solo prequel, all of the new, prominent characters are humans too.

I don't get it. I simply don't get it. Original Star Wars films, the Prequel Trilogy, and cartoons had fun with alien races, even giving some of them very prominent roles. But in these new films, it is lacking.

Yes, include diversity!!!! But, In fact, Rey, Kylo, Finn, Poe are Alien, they aren't born on earth, I think they are the same race of Alien however.

DC,

I fully expected that you would suggest this poll after I saw the posters featured on the IMDb Home Page.

I think that to judge these posters is basically judging the physical appearance of the character because the background is the same for all of them. My vote goes to R2-D2 because I like the light effect on the metal.
