Caveat: I have never seen the Tonight Show with Allen, Rayburn, or Kovacs. I thought Leno was ho-hum; 'a bit better than mediocre. My favorite: definitely Conan (with Carson in second place, and Fallon and Paar in third.) (I had a class once with an assignment to watch six of Parr's episodes: the professor had them in a climate-controlled (in other words, freezing, lol) room in the library. It was a very warm September and we'd go in wearing multiple layers and heavy winter coats, lol).
I'm suggesting one small edit to the intro but it's not a big deal: I'd just suggest putting commas, shown in bold, around the name of the show in the following:
Which version of NBC's long running late night TV series, "Tonight," is your favorite?
What a very good poll! : )

Growing up to my adult teen years (18 was legal in the 70s) Johnny was all we had at night so it was a standard in our house. It was good to fall asleep to. But I liked him, like he always seemed like a guy you could sit and have a scotch on rocks with or a martini and just chat and he would crack a good corny line. Never have been too into that show sense but David was always a great fill in and the hopeful replacement .. till he wasn't and they went with Jay. I moved over to CBS at that time and stayed with Dave.

Johnny has the best manner but I think Leno is the funniest (Headlines!), so it'll be tough choice. :)

I grew up watching Leno, but now that I've seen Johnny's reruns on Antenna TV I'm torn between them both.

LOL, yes, I catch them on Antenna, too. Love that channel. :)
