(You remember when I said I would stop at 14? I lied.)

You know the drill by now: Funny, witty, ominous, inspirational, corny or cheesy, these lines have two things in common: they're famous (many are classic) and they all consist of fifteen words (contractions considered)!

Which of these 25 fifteen-word movie quotes do you think is the most memorable?

You can't beat Dr. Lecter!

Incidentally, the quote from "Attack Of The Clones" is probably my most hated quote of all time; and perfectly sums up the vacuousness of that film.

Thanks Ed, I will be glad to consider your "maybes".

Having said that, I should add that over the course of this long-running quote-poll series, there are a few rules I applied, among them "no song lyric" and "no dialog"; if a memorable quote is part of an exchange I remove the connector to the previous sentence, this is why (and it created a big controversy) I considered "I am your father" the memorable quote... without the introducing "No".

So I can't add the "Natural Born Killers" quote without removing the "Or what?"... which reduces the number of words. This is also why I can't add the "definite" one because the legendary quote happens to be Norma's answer: "I am big, it's the pictures that got small" a quote I put in the 9-word edition.

I also have a reluctance with the "Untouchables" quote not because it's not memorable but because the scene is actually more remembered than the quotes (Malone grabbing the corpse, the blood splattering over the window and the guy's panicked reaction), the film is full of one-liners but I would say the most memorable quote from that moment is the punchline when the Mountee officer expresses his disapproval and Ness says: "well, you're not from Chicago".

The quote must be the most memorable part, when Vincent shoots Marvin in "Pulp Fiction" it's not much the action that makes the scene priceless but the verbal reaction: "I shot Marvin in the face"... that was memorable.

Sorry to bother you with these annoying bits of technicality, but you don't make the same polls for 7 years without getting a tad bureaucratic about them lol.

I will consider the other suggestions.

Thanks.

ElMo,

Even though this is in response to Ed, I appreciate the insight into your thought process in selecting quotations for your polls.

Thanks, Dan.

Ed's efforts deserved another one in return and yes, it's important to share the not-so obvious stuff like "why I would pick this quote and not that one", I must show that this is not an arbitrary process, there's some thinking behind though we're not talking of science or engineering.

The way I also check if a quote is eligible is to type it in Google and see if there are at least three references to that quote (besides IMDb or Wikiquote)... if it's a meme it's instantly validated.

I love having old habits... don't ask me why. :)
