They may not brought home the golden statue for Best Original Song, but all of these song made for movie exceed expectation and reached the highest peak of song popularity that left a golden mark on song chart when reached number 1 in Billboard Hot 100. Which one is your favorite?

Silitonga,

Another great suggestion!

Please simplify:
They may not brought home the golden statue for Best Original Song, but all of these song made for movie exceed expectation and reached the highest peak of song popularity that left a golden mark on song chart when reached number 1 in Billboard Hot 100.

To:
These Oscar nominated songs may not have brought home the Oscar for Best Original Song, but all of these songs reached number 1 in the Billboard Hot 100.

Its good now, thank you. I actually already have this list for a long time, but I guess I didn't have the time back then to update the list.

It was actually Jackson's first U.S. number 1 solo hit. He was 14! Can you imagine that! He was not the writer though. The song got nominated but the credit not for him.

My younger sister had two 45 records that she would play continuously: "Ben" and "Go Away Little Girl". Even though both are performed well, I find it difficult to listen to either one without cringing.

Just like the companion poll, this is a good one. I noticed that there's more information on the first poll, though, whereas I wonder if the information could be a bit misleading on this one: For example, the first option says "Unchained Melody". Single by Les Baxter" but, although Les Baxter and his orchestra performed this song, they didn't write it and "by" often connotes "created by" or "written by." I really like that your other poll gave credit to the writers as well as the performers but if you don't want to give all of the information that you give for the other poll, perhaps at least add the word "performed" to these songs because, for the most part, the people that performed them didn't write them. For example, I'd suggest "Unchained Melody" Single performed by Les Baxter."

Yeah, there is a difference. The first one Oscar winner dong, credit goes to writer and composer, that's why I put the information to list, but we may not recognize the writer and composer but rather the artist(s), so I also put information about the artist(s) who sing the song.

But this list, because they're just nominated, I think the title and the artist(s) info is enough. But its a good suggestion. I'll update the list with "performed ".

Thanks.
You could also add that song to the other poll, and ask for a re-push:
