1944 was 75 years ago. The Second World War was raging and Hollywood was making pictures for those still at home in the US that were of a "Feel Good" nature. The kind of movies that made you forget for 90 minutes or so that a war was on. The few titles that were war based always were positive in nature, if there is such a thing. The outcome was always in favor of the Allies. But generally the majority of the movies were pure escapism.
