I was 5 years old. Most of the movies would have been off limited to me and my (slightly older) siblings.
You kind of need to ... reconfigure/reword your premise. During the blackout, no one in NYC was going to the movies. The theaters literally didn't have electricity either.
Still? What a great idea for a poll.

Subways have independent electrical systems. The lights were out in the stations, but the tracks power was active.
Or Took a cab. NYC had 10,000 taxis in that era.
I was 22 years old.

Sigh. Missed my point as well as factually wrong as well. The Movie Theaters DID NOT have electricity. And no. I really doubt your MTA hypothesis.
During New York's 2003 blackout, The New York Times ran a description of the blackout of 1977:
"Because of the power failure, LaGuardia and Kennedy airports were closed down for about eight hours, automobile tunnels were closed because of lack of ventilation, and 4,000 people had to be evacuated from the subway system. ConEd called the shutdown an "act of God", enraging Mayor Beame, who charged that the utility was guilty of "gross negligence."[4]"
"The failure stranded millions of New Yorkers in buildings and on elevators and subway trains. A Transit Authority official said that although passengers had been trapped in sweltering subway cars, within an hour emergency power had moved the trains to nearby stations."

The MTA under emergency power doesn't mean train service resumed full service.

Now what about Taxis! Did they blackout? Did Cars quit running? Commuter trains that run on Diesel Fuel? People migrated out of the blackout area. Many spent time at the movies in the burbs. I remember one person being interviewed on the news that said they saw 8 movies in those two days. Some paid to watch and sleep at the movies in the 'Burbs.
It's only a poll Stephen.
Please refrain from this.
This is the second time you have done this and would ask that you respect my request from 11 months ago.
Thanks

I've explained it so that thinking people who are capable of extrapolating a hypothesis without specific direction can now read the obvious.

That was July 13 & 14, 1977. 42 Years later to the date Manhattan is having another blackout. With the blackout and no TV New Yorker's left their houses and apartments and went to the Movies in the suburbs.
If you were to have experienced, or did experience the blackout, which Movie would you have gone to see?
