I'll see a re-release of 2001: A Space Odyssey next month, which they'll screen with actual 70mm stock. I also once saw Pulp Fiction in another movie theater, but it was a bit disenchanting when after the credits, a Blu-Ray menu popped up.

Apart from that, all of them except for one or two maybe :). Apocalypse Now and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly would be fantastic.

What is your criteria? Why? Because several of the films have been re-released several times. And Disney does re-release it’s own film regularly aka The Lion King.

The other films on your list that have been re-released are:

- Titanic

- Star Wars (the original title)

- Gone With The Wind ( the last time is when ted turner restored the film.)

- The Sound Of Music

- E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial (when Spielberg restored it and used CGI to remove the guns and rifles from it and replaced them with Wilkie-talkies.)

- Back To The Future

- Ben Hur: A Tale Of The Christ

- Lawrence Of Arabia ( when Spielberg had the film restored)

- 2001: A Space Odyssey

- Citizen Kane

- Apocalypse Now ( a director’s cut)

How about a combination of IMDb votes and the top box office of each film’s year and Oscar nominations? I mean of their first initial release year.

I think "if it was" should be capitalised according to IMDb's standard:

I think the list is a pretty good list of popular classics. Even though some of the movies may have been released somewhere, they could be released again or in other places.
