You've just been accused of a crime - no, wait, come back! I'm creating a scenario here, you're fine! Okay, let's start over:

You've just been accused of a crime. But you didn't do it! Which of these television detectives would you trust to clear your name?

Link to List: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls047288133/
Suggestions welcome, just post a link to the image and tell me who the detective is, cause I may not know.  :)

Wow, I got it right!!!  I've barely even seen Rockford!!!  Just enough to see him at the freezer section at the store in the opening credits, lol.

He's in my "What did I do Wrong Now" Poll
He would have made a better brother for Spock in S.T. The Final Frontier. Lawrence Luckinbill was miscast. Garners deadpan sarcastic delivery would have played better.

Yes, but this poll is not just for detectives.  Profession doesn't matter, just as long as they solve cases.  :)

My God, the lone Ranger fits the criteria.
So does Walker Texas Ranger
The Last Detective (British) Dangerous Davies was the character name.
Broadchurch - US and Brit version - Oddly both have Benedict Cumberbatch as the detective.
One with and one without an accent.
You'll notice that's the P.C. description! LOL
I did not pick which version IS the accent!
Simon and Simon
Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys
A Touch of Frost (Brit)
New Tricks (Brit)
Got loads

Isn't there a way to narrow the scope of this question? If you included every TV crime solver ever you'd have literally thousands of options.

Here are some existing polls that seem to cover the same ground:

I understand. But like I said above - how are you going to narrow this down? With literally 1000s of characters fitting the bill, you'll have tons of voters asking, "why didn't you include x, y, z, etc."

Hey...
What Jen is suggesting is Narrowing the scope by these methods.
The solution is to pick a time frame. One decade.
You can make a series out of them
You can also pick The US, Britain, Nordic, Germany, Australian, France.
When done you would have 10 or more polls just off of the idea.
Just check to see if someone else has done it before.
If you need help, I'll show you how to use advance search to help you find titles.

You can make them image polls. Find the detective from the title and just put the characters name in the comments. Keep it Simple.
