If you were asked to think of all the horror movie directors you can, chances are more men than women would come to mind. With that being said, there have been many successful horror movies directed by females, some of which may come as a surprise to you.

Which of the following horror movies directed by female(s) is your favorite?

Please note: Only movies with at least 15,000 IMDb user ratings will be included.

List: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls029945731/

I didn't include american psycho because IMDB has denied my requests in the past to put horror as a genre, so I thought they wouldn't want to contradict themselves by posting my poll lol. Good suggestions adding some!!

Oh, and in my opinion 15,000 is too high of a bar from that subject, mostly because there are a lot of rather obscure but great horror movies directed by women, such as The Velvet Vampire (1971) and Blood Bath (1966) by pioneering exploitation director Stephanie Rothman first ever feamle member of DGA. Directors like Rothman need more exposure and acclaim they initally were declined of because both gender AND ghetto status of explotation and independent film.

Hm. If I add movies with 500 votes I'll have no way of narrowing to 35. Movies directed by both a man and a woman aren't being added, or Goodnight Mommy would forsure be on the list

Yes to all. I looked through at least 20 lists and eventually the only new ones I was discovering were unknowns with a few hundred votes, so I thought I'd found everything. IDK how u do it Peter, thank u for being u.
