Everybody knows about the big empathic blockbusters like 'Schindlers List' or 'A Beautiful Mind'. But what about the little movies which are also humanitarian in some way?

When you look below, what would be the movie you would pick as an important movie of human matters? If there is more than one movie, pick the one that moved you the most.

(Just non-mainstream-movies with a rating of 7/10 or higher with a story based on real events. Budget below 20 million US$.)

I see, I had a bad use of word in the title, so I changed "Necessary" to "Captivating". That seems better.

Please correct:
Everybody knows about the big empathic blockbusters like 'Schindler's List' or 'A Beautiful Mind'. Which of these movies that are also humanitarian are you most interested in? (If you have seen all of them, please vote for the one you think is the best.)

Thanks. More typos:

#1: seperated --> separated
#13: normaly --> normally
#24: an camp --> a camp

Please also correct the spelling of yrnej in #25 to 31.

I swear I remember commenting on this one but actually never did. It's totally the kind of poll on which I would comment. Anyway, I really like it and love the intention and the way it also works as a great resource. : )

I've seen most of the films (and really liked most of those); of the ones I haven't seen, I'm most interested in seeing 'The Straight Story.' 'Good list, btw!

Oh, it seems like you didn't finish the sentence for #8. I also noticed a very small typo in #12:

beginns ---> begins
