When I have added links to posts on the IMDb message boards, they don't work. They are just normal URLs that I have copied and pasted (like I've done on Twitter and other boards countless times.) I've seen other posts on the IMDb boards with working links. Can someone tell me what the problem might be?

Thanks for any help that anyone can provide!

You can link to various IMDb data directly in the boards using the command [link=xxx] and replace the xxx with a title, person or character ID. For instance

[link=tt1670345] will create a link to Now You See Me (2013/I)
[link=nm0000151] will create a link to Morgan Freeman, and
[link=ch0334875] will create a link to Freeman's character in that movie, Thaddeus Bradley

You can make clickable links to different sites outside IMDb too, but not with a link name different from the URL you're linking to. So you can make a clickable link this way: http://en.wikipedia.org/, but you cannot make a link to Wikipedia where 'Wikipedia' is the underlined link. Not as of now, anyway, and the admins have made it clear that they do not have any immediate plans to change it.

You need to add mark up. Either by typing it with before and after or use the new method just implamented that lets you highlight it then click the "link" button at the top of your text field.
