I came across this profile which has a biography that claims he is well known. Googling however yields no reliable sources other than some user edited site entries. There's no newspaper articles, book hits or anything that verifies that this actor actually exists. I've checked the films listed and none of them credit this actor. I think this is potentially someone trying to gain fame by creating a false entry.

As Vincent Fournois notes, almost all his appearances are uncredited. But I see that the page for the film Naseeb does credit him.
But not the film credits themselves. They do not have a credit for him.
Got that, but as far as I know, Indian film credits are not as comprehensive as modern US ones.
Well putting aside the issue of on-screen credits, if the actor is as notable as claimed he would be covered in newspaper articles or books. A career spanning as long as stated in the entry would not go unnoticed if it was real. As it stands however there's no acknowledgement from any such services.

I believe he might be a real actor. If actor has that much roles, even uncredited, for so much time, at least his face would be quite known. Here he is in Sanyasi and even though I've seen quite scarce Indian movies, I actually remember seeing his face in a couple of them.
Well yes it's a screencap from a movie so it may be recognizable but there's nothing to verify that the name corresponds to that face.

Exceptions from that rule do happen, to be fair.
Well the high profile exception would apply in that case due to media coverage which isn't the case here.
Further the other exception of being pre-1990 would not apply because it is claimed he was active from 1990 through 2004 yet no credits exist.
