Twin Peaks (1990-1991) had its first episode aired on 17 Nov 1990, but it shows up on lists of titles released in 1989 for some reason. I followed a link from the reference view to show the most popular titles of the year of the movie I was watching, which was from 1989, and at #4 there's Twin Peaks (1990). It shows up if I do manual searches in the Advanced Title Search for TV-shows from 1989 too. I have no idea where those searches finds a 1989 tag in that show, but it should be fixed.

While on the subject of Twin Peaks, how come the revival, season 3, show has its own title on IMDb instead of being shown as season 3 in the original show? It's the same cast and crew, after all. The revivals of other shows, like X Files, show up on the original show title page instead of as separate titles, why not also Twin Peaks?

The likely reason the title appears on the search link you provided is that the release information page for "Twin Peaks" indicates the program, presumably the pilot, premiered at the Telluride Film Festival in September 1989 before the US network TV series premiere in April 1990.

In the case of not adding the revival series to the original series page, I found this info on the IMDb Help Center Title Formatting page:

One Series or Two?
On occasion some titles warrant a second series listing though this is subjective and each case has to be judged on its own merits i.e Arrested Development (one), 24 and 24: Live Another Day (two) etc. Here are some of the criteria to consider when trying to define whether a series should be listed as one or two titles: the length of time that has passed between the seasons, significant changes to the credits including production details, how the series is marketed when released and perceived by the public and if there were any changes to the primary title.

I hope this helps. Please write back if you have any more questions.
