Problem having credits removed for projects credited to another person with a same name.

Hello,

Over the years I have contacted IMDB HELP DESK in reference to credits appearing on my profile page that are not mine belonging to another person with the same name.   I've made submissions several times through IMDB but never recieved a reply or had it corrected.   The most recent was sent on 9/27/13 (  http://www.imdb.com/helpdesk/thread?tid=9898168#10773084  ) with a reply on 9/29/13 saying it was received and I would have a reply withing 48 hours but still no response as has happened before.   I sincerely hope that by contacting you here I'll finally have a response from someone who can help.   I'm not contacting you to add a credit but rather to REMOVE CREDITS that don't belong to me.   I'm assuming that shouldn't be that difficult to do.   As a professional Director we depend on the information on our Profile being as accurate as possible and not misleading.   This is why I'm looking forward to having someone contact me to finally have this information corrected.   Thank you in advance.

In my experience IMDb never ever replies to submissions, short of the automated reply about the submission being received. They either go through or they don't. You can raise Data Verification Cases, which when processed will be answered in your Contact History. Don't expect e-mails from them...

As for your case, what exactly are you trying to do when submitting your corrections? Do you try to delete the credits, or do you try to move them to a different person? Getting a credit deleted is not done without conclusive evidence, but getting one moved to a different person of the same name is normally not a big problem.

Thanks for that info.   I've made several separate "data submissions" over time and nothing has been resolved on any of the cases.   All I ever get back is a message saying " you already have 1 pending request(s) for our help desk staff waiting to be processed " but it never gets addressed.   The problem is there isn't any phone support for you to contact them and find out what the status is on the case.   However, I've seen them reply to someone on this forum with a similar issue and it was resolved.   Apparently they are checking the posts here so I'm hopeful that the same might happen for me.

I concur with what both Emperor and BluesmanSF have stated. However, if I understand you correctly, it sounds as if you are "submitting" information through the Help Desk rather than through the Data Submission process, which is likely to get you further than asking Help Desk personnel. If I am at all correct, then you may wish to check out the "Splitting Names" Guide, here:  http://www.imdb.com/updates/guide/names_all#splitting

See also the reply you got in the other thread on this that you started:

Splitting them off is the way to go, but we need more information to advise on the best approach.

How do you go about splitting them off?    Here's the link: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0046452/
