Some user (going by the name of Trollll) reported my profile (by the name of: vikade) and got it deleted. The user said that he's cleaning up the Indian Cinema Board and deleting random users just for the heck of it. As far as I know, I have never made any posts that would rate the deletion of my account.

I currently have an IMDb account by the name: vikade1

I don't know if it's possible to get the profile back or not, but I had made a list of movies under that profile that I'd like to get back at least.

Do let me know what I can do to help.

Thanks.

Can you post a link to that?

After
naiveastrea (late) , the next victim of my cleaning process was vikade
(late) .
Say RIP for him as he is no more among us.
 My target is
removing “Quality” from ICB. This board should reflect the current
condition of Indian Cinema.
Just the way Indian Movies are full of crap, this board should be full
of crap too. Intellectual posters like naiveastrea and vikade do not
deserve to be here. @...

Thanks for that. Even I was not able to find the original post as it is deleted.

But this is that exact same post that is in boardreader.

I really want to get my list back, that I had painstakingly built over 7 years.

First,
I am truly sorry that you lost your list. Unfortunately, once a list is deleted IMDB will not be able to recover it.

Yes, sorry to hear that - I put a lot of time and effort into mine and would be gutted if I lost one, which is why I download copies from time-to-time.

If it was public, then you might be able to track down a cached version, but I can't find it here:

http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.imdb.com%2Fuser%2Fur5702489%2F

If it was public you can try Googling the name of the list.

Isn't there any system of warning people first? They just up and delete the profile? If the people who are reporting don't say it upfront like here, how would we even know?

I must say I assumed that when you are first reported you get a warning panel popping up pointing you to the terms and conditions. Sanctions are then applied before authentication is removed.

I wasn't aware that a profile could be deleted immediately.

Hmm. I'm now getting a panel pointing out the terms and conditions whenever I make a new post.

Does this mean somebody is again reporting me. Is there anything I can do now, other than just wait for my profile to get deleted and then make a new one?

Emperor, if I recall correctly, the IMDb staff will delete a user account without  warning if there is a clear and fragrant violation of IMDb terms and conditions, such as Trolll and the accounts spamming IMDb with lists promoting illegal downloads. However, I also believed that IMDb gave warnings in most other cases.

But if it was a case of malicious reporting and staff wanted to delete a profile, surely they'd have looked at the posts, so they'd see this was unjustified? Even if this happened I'd have thought it would be in exceptional cases - they clearly didn't delete the list spammers immediately and even very obvious spamming and trolling seems to have sanctions applied. It seems odd that accounts would get nuked just on the basis of some reports.

Also "fragrant"? Something smells, but it ain't nice.

Sorry for the trouble, but is there a way I can get my movie ratings back? That at least was public.....

Thanks for that - seems this also fits with this thread:

https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/deleting_the_account_of_user_naiveastrae_an_indian_cinema_bo...

As a user is openly gloating about maliciously getting users blocked, can staff look into this? They are clearly using a number of sockpuppet accounts and/or coordinating this with other trolls and they all need shutting down.
