It'll be better if you sort the list year wise.

DC, while I can understand the logic of organizing lists in a systematic fashion. I am perplexed how listing chronologically will make this poll suggestion better? In this case, I can't understand how putting the four of the lowest rated and least viewed chapters in the top five makes sense. Aside, from the original which is listed second in list, I would suspect that 90% of the remaining votes would go to the the four most recent editions. Is there another reason that I might be missing to sort the list year wise?

I added the upcoming War for the Planet of the Apes (2017) as  the #5 option. The series seems to fall into two groups: one of iconic chapters and a secondary grouping of less notable but still good movies.

I guess but adding just one film, you'll get essentially the same outcome in terms of voting distribution. But honestly the editors have published other polls that have been identical to others, so who knows.

Well the new one's been pretty acclaimed so far, so I'm thinking it'll change a few opinions and the distribution overall. Hopefully it'll knock off some votes for Tim Burton's movie. *shutters at the thought of it*

Eagles90. should update with the most recent installment, whether that happens remains to be seen.  I think it would interesting to see a re-vote based on the most recent movie, I suspect  War for the Planet of the Apes would finish in the top three and might even have a shot at the top spot, given early ratings.

I guess I never actually posted my vote. I'm with the 1968 film all the way. I love Caesar's trilogy, but it's lacking in comparison to the brutal satire of Michael Wilson's screenplay.
