I have only seen 1998 version and, although it had a mediocre reception at best, I actually quite like it.

Was not aware of John Woo-directed unaired pilot (now that's a combination I'm really interested to see) and somehow had no idea that Netflix are going to reboot the series. Looks promising.

I agree across the board. I liked the 1998 movie, great cast plus a decent summer movie. I had no idea there was a failed re-boot either, but I am intrigued too, especialy with John Woo at the helm. It looks likes the studio sold the distribution rights after it failed, so there are copies out there.

I also, noticed a bit of trivia: "When the pilot failed to generate a series, the set of the Jupiter 2 spacecraft was sold to the production of Battlestar Galactica (2004) for use as the set of the Battlestar Pegasus."

Copies might as well be bootlegs (something tells me that primary image of the title now is actually a bootleg cover), but then again, some titles are unavailable in any other shape or form so there's barely any other choice.

The set re-use trivia is neat! Reminds me of the fact that some sets built for Aliens (1986) were later re-used in Batman (1989). Although probably even more of the fact that Cyborg (1989) was basically written to make some use for sets and costumes already built and made for unproduced Spider-Man and Masters of the Universe 2 movies which were axed with millions already spent in pre-production.

I wasn't aware of the third title. I haven't seen much except a few scenes from the original tv series. The new version is on my waiting list, but I'm watching too many sci-fi series right now. I guess i'd vote for the original.

Thanks, that is much better. However, the links will only allow the quotations around the entire title hyperlink with year.
