A "mulligan"  is a term used in game play when a player gets a second chance to perform a certain move or action. It is used here to describe movie plots where the main characters gets a second chance in the game of life and the chance to relive it, usually after a renewed appreciation of their life or some other epiphany. Thanks, for the observation, I think you point out the need for a little more clarity in this poll suggestion. I probably need to change "do-over" to "life do-over" or add an introduction explaining it a little.

Favorite Life Mulligan or Life Do-Over Movie

Movies with a life mulligan themed plot share the same premise, but each is uniquely interesting and worth watching. The main characters in life mulligan themed movies are dissatisfied with their lives. However, they get the unique gift to see how things would be if their lives had turned out differently. Although the premise is the same, the paths and plot devices used to achieve the awakening and the actual life mulligan vary. In the end, they return to their original lives knowing the grass isn't always greener and are much happier for it.

Thanks, I think they are all great suggestions and I can see how they apply. They all spin on a time-altering version to fix the past and therfore the future. I appreciate the "fresh perspective", While, not the original type of awakening I was envisioning, I think the characters in these movies learn something too that changes the course of their lives. I am going to give it some thought and see how I might re-structure my introduction so they will  better share a unifying theme. Thanks again.
