Hollywood often protrays life in the Suburbs as shallow and unfullfilling full of adulterers, secret alcholics and drug users, mid-life crises, etc.
Which anti-suburb movie is your favorite?
List: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls099637910/
suggestions welcome

It's interesting that The 'Burbs (1989), an underrated gem about suburbs, mostly subverts these stereotypes.

Good idea! And a tough choice: my vote would go to The Ice Storm, American Beauty, or maybe The Graduate.

FYC:

Disturbia
Pleasantville
Blue Velvet
Ordinary People
Lymelife
Arlington Road

Perhaps Serial Mom?
Perhaps The Stepford Wives?

arlington road is a thriller, and stepford movies are sci-fi, but I can see stepford wives. I'll think about it

You're quite welcome. 'One Hour Photo' and 'Suburbicon' are thrillers, as well, although I was somewhat ambivalent about 'Arlington Road' anyway. 'Blue Velvet,' on the other hand is such a commentary on suburbia, though, and one of the best: practically everything about it, down to the garden hose, is designed as an indictment of suburbs. And 'Disturbia,' like 'Suburbicon,' even has it in the name. Anyway, it's a very good list for a great poll idea. : )

I know I'm late, but I really think this list is incomplete without:

Short Cuts (1993)
Lawn Dogs (1997)

The Virgin Suicides(1999) is one of the best anti-suburb's catagories movies.
