Nope, and the 6th choice was The Benny Hill Show
My life is enough a drama for my taste :)

"The Benny Hill Show" (all iterations of it) is quite great and I am sad that it's not remembered for it's better and smarter parts but for rather dated and sexist ones.

Hell no to “Twin Peaks”. Sure it was a phenomenon when it started because of a hint of a good mystery. But when it got to weird for people’s taste and when it got revealed that Lynch was making it up as he was going along with no real solid solution to the mystery to begin with, viewers left the show like crazy. You never write a mystery unless you have the solution already firmly planned and created before you start it. Mysteries are written backwards with the solution first so the writer has a clear direction to the piece. The show had no direction. Even “Lost” had a more loyal and a bigger following than TP. ( In fact, the title “Twin Peaks” sounds like they took it from of the jokes Johnny Carson did of Art Fern, host of the tea time movie skit on “The Tonight Show”.)

So my offerings for replacement for the “Twin Peaks” entry are:

- Lost

- Star Trek

- Star Trek: The Bext Generation

- Grey’s Anatomy

- The Simpsons

If you want to put my list up, please do so. After all, there are a lot of Star Trek fans out there and it is indeed one of the largest franchises in USA tevelvision and movie history. Just take the top five .

Okey, just make the first one just “Star Trek” . That will represent the whole franchise. Then just use the next four on the list, not the other shows in the Star Trek franchise.

That will be something very hard to do, as I have dar more favorite TV shows, then 5...

Let's say for now it is:
Twin Peaks (2017)
Mr. Bean (1990)
The Simpsons (1989)
M*A*S*H (1972)
Gotham (2014)

coherenteducation, you most watch old one first. New season is so confusing in it's own, so you must watch old one first to have a chance to understand.

coherenteducation it's hard to say, but I watched "Twin Peaks" (2017) with friends and before that we binged original series (I've seen it before, they haven't) as well as Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992) and Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces (2014). It seems that it helped us greatly, although arguably the movies might be even more essential to the new show then original two seasons. It might certainly be problematic to understand the plot of the new show without earlier installements. I still find them great and as much as Season 2 often gets panned, the character of Windom Earle is worth watching on his own. Plus, there is a genius ensemble cast in both seasons and movies.

Wow, this is hard. It would be easier to do one for comedy and one for drama, but anyway, here are mine:

1. Friends (1994–2004)
2. Game of Thrones (2011– )
3. The Big Bang Theory (2007– )
4. Frasier (1993–2004)
5. Lost (2004–2010)

This was hard; I couldn't decide how to cut some of them so I just chose the ones that have been on longer. The too close ones were Preacher, The Good Place, and Rick and Morty.

1. Scrubs
2. Community
3. Mad Men
4. Peaky Blinders
5. Dexter

For Dibyayan's picks, you should list Band of Brothers instead of GoT, since that's his #1.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 (1988–1999);

The Daily Show (1996– )

Not sure for what I'll make my fifth pick.
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (2002–2005)
Hannibal (2013–2015)
American Horror Story (2011– )
Portlandia (2011–2018)
MythBusters (2003– ): Literally don't know anything about the current season.
Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2001–2011)
Six Feet Under (2001-2005)

I'll let it percolate for the weekend.

Chihir0,

You've alternated on your list between listing people by their IMDb username and real name. You should probably just stick to one for consistency - probably better to go with usernames in case people don't want their real names being listed?

Chihir0,

My list has changed a bit since I watched GOT; It deserves to be in anyone's Top 5.

Breaking Bad would still be my #1 all-time show but would it be possible to change my list from 2-4 to the following shows (you'd have to ask for a re-push as well):

1. Breaking Bad (Won't Change)
2. Game of Thrones
3. Rick and Morty
4. Friday Night Lights
5. Mad Men

Thanks and let me know!
