I really like that you show that 'The Godfather - Part II' is better than the first part. I think so, too. It's for me like 'Star Wars'. For me, Episode 5 was the best. :)

You may notice that the 70s are my favorite decade in terms of movies, 5 of my 10 films are from the 70s.

No sorry, I let it stay that way. If you don't want it, I can still change your reason-line to "n/a", if you want so. It's also about the #1, but in a top 10 list. my reasoning for Brazil as my #1: It's an amazing fantasy story with incredible visuals and great performances, especially Robert Dinero's cameo as the blackmarket fugitive heating repairman. It's the story of a everyman who is happy in his anonymity who finds himself chasing the girl of his dreams, literally, through the world of an oppressive government that controls everything and tries to control everyone. It holds up well after 30 years and stands the test of time.

These are also among my favorite films, but the ones I listed are of course better. (I think I just wrote down pretty much all of my post-1970 favorites)
I consider Das Boot as the best film ever made, but I put it at number two and put my favorite at the no.1 spot. I guess that was the point of this poll, wasn't it, to name our favorite movies as opposed to best movies?
The reason I chose Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels as my favorite film is very simple: it's the most fun I ever had watching a film. It has perfect photography, perfect editing (never, ever slowing down or going so fast that you miss the story) looks extremely slick, has perhaps the best and most quotable dialogue I heard in a comedy, Guy Ritchie used music as well as Tarantino, perhaps even better, almost like a character in the film. And although the plot is extremely intricate, you have no trouble following it. At least I didn't.
(I didn't include Shawshank. I rated it 10 on imdb and wrote a short, praising review, but like I said on my review, I consider it a very beautiful film, but not a truly great film. But I admit I must have watched it 40 times, and know almost all the lines by heart)

These are also among my favorite films, but the ones I listed are of course better. (I think I just wrote down pretty much all of my post-1970 favorites)
I consider Das Boot as the best film ever made, but I put it at number two and put my favorite at the no.1 spot. I guess that was the point of this poll, wasn't it, to name our favorite movies as opposed to best movies?
The reason I chose Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels as my favorite film is very simple: it's the most fun I ever had watching a film. It has perfect photography, perfect editing (never, ever slowing down or going so fast that you miss the story) looks extremely slick, has perhaps the best and most quotable dialogue I heard in a comedy, Guy Ritchie used music as well as Tarantino, perhaps even better, almost like a character in the film. And although the plot is extremely intricate, you have no trouble following it. At least I didn't.
(I didn't include Shawshank. I rated it 10 on imdb and wrote a short, praising review, but like I said on my review, I consider it a very beautiful film, but not a truly great film. But I admit I must have watched it 40 times, and know almost all the lines by heart)
