What?!? No "The Quiet Man"!?! That used to be in the top 250 along with "The Informer" way back in the old days of the IMDb. Just remember that director John Ford was Irish.

Irish Made means it has to be an Irish company that finances or produces the movie. Both 'The Quiet Man' and 'The Informer' are American productions filmed in a studio in Hollywood with some locations shoots in Ireland, I had the same thought on those titles along with The Crying Game being another former IMDb Top 250 title that might make the list. Alas, despite Irish talent and some Irish locations it was a UK

USA production, which makes it more Japanese than Irish. It cuts both ways as Irish companies get lead credit for the Room and In America; movies that were filmed outside of Ireland, but are considered Irish made.

Ok, I like and agree with that answer. Have you looked at any more of Alan Parker's movies?
Oh, if you ever consider making a list of directors who had won the Oscar 4 or more times , don't over look their documentary work: John Ford, 6 times - 2 were for his wartime documentaries.

I am a huge John Ford fan, I agree he was amazing and could direct anything well, not just Westerns. I am not as familiar with Alan Parker. But I am a fan of several of his movies, including Mississippi Burning, Pink Floyd: The Wall, Angela's Ashes, The Life of David Gale, and Evita

Thanks, enjoy the day, Danny Boy.
In the 2009 film The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day Norman Reedus's character Murphy MacManus explains the phrase Erin go bragh as: "It's Irish for, 'you're f#@$d.
Too bad, Mo chuisle aka Million Dollar Baby wasn't an Irish co-production.
In the 2004 film Million Dollar Baby trainer Frankie has "Mo Chuisle" embroidered on the silks of boxer Maggie Fitzgerald (Hilary Swank) for her first overseas fight, and it is subsequently chanted by the various crowds in the film numerous times.
