Peter Dinklage as Miles Finch in Elf, as Trumpkin in The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian, and as Eddie in Pixels. (Please take this as kidding around.) Watch out, the hardcore Narnia fans may take your GoT points away for missing PD as Trumpkin.

Yes, I agree that makes sense. I think I am there 85-90% of the time and that was a primary goal. But the nature of the beast is sometimes I had to compromise a bit to further the other goals, I was trying to achieve with each selection. They include: IMDb rating, IMDb votes, other GoT cast members in the movie, lead role and screen time, buzz about role or award nominations, box office/critical success for the movie, a good genre  and variety mix and balancing to get as many GoT characters and actors listed .

Sometimes, I back doored their best role under another actor to get both on the list. A good example is There Will Be Blood over Munich for Ciarán Hinds which was Tom Wlaschiha cited film. The bottom line is their best known movie maybe on the list just not as their nominated role with movie resume. Regardless, the movie is still there for poll takers to vote for.

Plus, the first role you think of when you hear an actor's name may not be the same for another person, depending on what movies they have seen. For instance, I have seen Emilia Clarke in four out five of her feature films, I immediately think of Me Before You, while most people likely have only seen one film, Terminator Genisys. "What is the first role you think of when you hear an actor's name?" may not be a one size fits all type of question.

Also, some actors may be better known for a small role in big-budget Hollywood blockbuster than for a more significant lead role in a limited release indie. So, the trade-off is their best known role for one people have actually seen. I think the issue is a little bit more complex and easier said than done. Are there specific omissions you are referring too?

Don't forget this poll is about movies not roles: Which movie featuring a GoT cast member* is your favorite? So, those other goals do serve a purpose.

When I hear of Max von Sydow, I think of him in three roles: Father Mirren in "The Exorcist", (For some mistaken reason) as Death in "The Seventh Seal" (which he didn't play, he played Antonius Block, not death) , and "Minority Report" before I think of "Shutter Island"..
For Jim Broadbent, tough call. I think of him as Professor Kirke in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005) before I think of him as Slughorn. He was terrible as Slughorn. I think someone did a faceoff poll on that one. You might want to check the results of that - if one was done.

I agree and disagree.

What you are saying makes total sense, Max von Sydow's  G. Joubert in Three Days of the Condor is the first role that comes to mind for me. Primarily, because it is the first movie I saw him in and thought he was amazing. I realize that is probably an outlier and think he should be remembered for his sixties period: The Seventh Seal, Wild Strawberries or Greatest Story. In theory, I would have no problem with Three Days of the Condor or The Excorist also being placed ahead of Shutter Island too.  In reality, I think he and others have what I will call the "Alec Guinness problem" , a lifetime of great roles in Doctor Zhivago, Lawrence of Arabia, The Bridge on the River Kwai, The Lavender Hill Mob, Kind Hearts and Coronets, The Ladykillers among others. But, in the end he is best remembered by the vast majority of people to the exclusion of all his other work for Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, His frustration on this issue was legendary.

If you asked 1000 people today, who is Max Von Sydow and to name three roles he is known for? I am quite certain in totality, the top three would be Game of Thrones, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Shutter Island. The Atlantic said he was on the verge of becoming a pop-culture icon two years ago before GoT and since then he has achieved that status in his twilight years: https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2015/12/the-greatest-actor-alive/413167/ So, we are back to the difference of what should be and what is.

I also, think if go back back to the scope of the poll question:Which movie featuring a GoT cast member* is your favorite from among those that share a similar "Game of Thrones" connection? If you limited it to only GoT's Three-Eyed Raven: Max Von Sydow's Resume for your pool, three titles stand above the rest in terms of viewership, popularity and highest ratings. Game of Thrones, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Shutter Island are far ahead of his other 250 credits. The same logic applies to Jim Broadbent, where The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005)  doesn't even crack his top five movies. It might be his best role, but it isn't his best remembered or IMDb users favorite movie. I don't have any hard numbers, but I think can safely speculate, in the spirit of giving poll takers the most desirable movie options, there are more Harry Potter fans out there than Chronicles of Naria fans. As a result, a Harry Potter movie will beat out a Chronicles of Naria movie every single time.

In theory, what you say makes sense, in reality it just isn't that way. I am going to make an assumption, but I don't think the general public has seen as many titles or is a bit older to see beyond the present day to truly appreciate an actor's work the way you do, or I do or others on the poll board do. Thanks for the feedback and specifics.

Nope still waiting, I will bump again. But, I agree especially since it is not about the show and doesn't need the shows current season to be running to be relevant. In fact, the opposite is true "Game of Thrones" Cast Connected Movies is the only reprise GoT fans have during the two year hiatus between season to visit with their favorite GoT actors. I haven't pushed this suggestion in a while, so probably my own fault it hasn't gotten more play or interest.

Of the ones I've watched i might vote for: The Fellowship of the Ring.

Minor Typo on #2.
GoT's Tyrion Lannister: Peter Dinklage's Movie Resume

Suggestion why don't you add Justice League(2017) in placeof There Will be Blood for Ciarán Hinds because it is still popular and might fetch more votes.

Thanks, I corrected the GoT's Tyrion Lannister: Peter Dinklage's Movie Resume error.

! appreciate the Ciarán Hinds suggestion, I wasn't aware of his voice only role as Steppenwolf (voice). As for the selection, it is a bit a juggling act trying to achieve a mix of movies types and feature roles each actor is most well known for. I think I prefer 'There Will be Blood' in this case, for both how it varies the assortment and features him in a prominent role. I think the superhero genre is already well represented on the list. But, I do appreciate this suggestion.

The goal is for every poll taker to find a selection of movies they can choose from, so limiting the list to only the most popular ones might not serve the goal for people who like or tend to watch other genres. These niches will concentrate their votes,  while superhero fans can still split their vote among a dozen choices.

I do agree with you Urbane that the Superhero genre is well represented on the list maybe you're right that voters will like Ciarán Hinds performance as a live figure in There Will be Blood more than his voice credit for Steppenwolf in Justice League.

And I just checked out the list.
I guess you forgot to mention David Bradley(Walder Frey) in Deathly Hollows as Argus Flich.

Honestly, I had forgotten he voiced the role and I guess he had another voice role in Frozen too. The two first roles of his that come to mind for me are Munich and There Will Be Blood for me plus a couple others. As for votes, the big budget productions are so well represented that tiny Sing Street and The Awakening look out of place. I do appreciate the feedback, as it causes me to rethink my choice. Thanks, again.

I added David Bradley in Deathly Hollows  to the list. I missed that one, thanks for the catch.

I can't really choose an upcoming movie as my favourite. Wouldn't it be better to choose already released films of those actors?

GAME OF THRONES CAST CONNECTED MOVIES
I don't necessarily disagree in the logic of not listing unreleased movies. I removed the following entries until they hit theaters, but I think these are the movies to list for these actors from their movie resumes. I don't want to list alternate current movies that will be soon be after thoughts or pale in comparison to these better options

Maise William's has had a few leading roles in indie movies that were mostly not well seen. Kit Harrington's best alternate options would be his lead role in the forgettable Pompeii and a supporting role in How to Train Your Dragon 2. Sophie Turner has few indie lead roles that were not well seen and her Jean Grey role in  X-Men: Apocalypse. All the upcoming movies represent upgrades both in terms of their featuring these actors, being better known options for poll takers and balancing the other objective goals that the total movie answer assortment. I think these movies in short order will be the movies each actor is best known for soon after their release.
