Intro:

There are actors that did quite a good job on the action genre. They are icons in their own way of being a action movie star. Their movies claim cult status. No matter if it's about war, man to man combat, scince fiction or what ever - all of them are known for their work. Which of these well trained muscle packed fellows is your lead actioner? Give us the gym results here.

Rules:

The action icon should be a actioner since years, no superhero or supervillain movie, there are 5 movies to be named for the action icons' filmography, no less, no more, exact 5 ! It should somehow fit to the other icons.

List:

Well, I wasn't really kidding, but to us weirdos who like terrible B movies, he is a classic action star.  Maybe I should do a separate poll for that.  :D
I think Seagal is reeeeaaaaaaaalllllllly cheesy, but that's why I like him.  ;)

I don't know if Kurt Russell meets the action requirement:
- Escape from New York/La
- Big Trouble in Little China
- Tango and Cash
- Tombstone
- Soldier
- Poseidon
- Executive Decision
- Deepwater Horizon

Now, from my memory, I would have said that he has more action work, but those films aren't listed as Action on IMDb, but as Thrillers.

Also, I'm guessing you're gonna piss some people off, if you don't add Harrison Ford to the list:
- Star Wars
- Indiana Jones
- The Fugitive
- Air Force One
- Clear and Present Danger/Patriot Games
- Force 10 from Navarone

It seems like IMDb also lists Blade Runner as Action (among other genres), but I really, really wouldn't count it as an action movie.

Well, I don't really think that Harrison Ford is an action icon. He had some action moments, yes. But ... 'Blade Runner'? Really? For me and many others this movie was boring as a sleeping pill. The first one and also the remake. Ford is a great actor, no question - but I don't really consider him as an action icon over all.

I think Indiana Jones alone warrants him to be on the list... You have Sean Connery who is most famous for Bond so not sure why Harrison cant' be included.

Most movies with him I remember are like 'Reagarding Henry'. I always thought that he's a little lame in action, except the Indiana Jones movies. But when I look at the whole filmography - he really had several actioners. I don't know why I don't get him on my radar when someone mentions action movies. Well, I'll take your both suggestion to the list.

I agree he isn't a physical actor who does a lot his own stunts and fight choreography, but in his action movies he plays more more of an everyday man type of action hero who most audiences can relate towards- similar to Bruce Willis.
