Did you register on IMDb as a User or did you sign up for IMDbPro? A photo you put up to a user account as an avatar is not the same as uploading a headshot via IMDbPro.

Registered site users (regardless of whether they work in film/tv, they're simply using the site to look up info, make lists, review or rate films, etc.) can now add an avatar. If you also are listed in the database, doing so will not carry over to your IMDb Name Page where your credits get listed.
To have a head shot on your page, you need to have an active membership to IMDb Pro, which let's you add a resume, head shot and up to 100 photos. It's a paid subscription service.
